Here's my prediction for the next 10 years for the flashlights industry..

1. Better LEDs from nichia with better CRI
more efficient and more Lumens and even better better CRI

2. More LEP flashlights
since the acebeam W30 announcement the flashlights world is not the same in the thrower category

3. New batteries chemistry
I read a lot about new battery chemistry in development. Save, Higher Capacity, More Charge Cycles

4. Surefire will they survive the next decade?
Unless they Keep up with new standards..
high Lumens, They must use userechargable batteries, More Compact Designs, Real throwers (LEP), more EDC flashlights (pocketable) offering

5. Zebralight is 100% Getting better and they eventually become USA made manufacturer

6. More High CRI lights offering from major brands
Olight, Fenix, Zebralight.... maybe Surefire for EDC Series?

7. Malkoff will offer keychain flashlight & triple or even quad LEDs flashlight
I started a thread about this one and he said yes but it needs more time to start completely new light

8. Many Brands will close their doors and many others will grow even bigger

Olight & Zebralight is definitely getting bigger every year

9. CPF Special Edition flashlight;)
It would be cool to see true high CRI with special metals flashlight just like BLF

10. HDS will offer 210 Lumens lights for just $10000 for the basic models with true green tint as high CRI!:([emoji107]🏻

Everyone is moving forward but HDS is the only one to go backwards! Keep up the good work guys!

One more thing

China is winning the flashlights WAR!

Happy new year [emoji323][emoji324][emoji312]

Happy New Year!

I need to disagree with you on the nr.10... HDS is one of the most reliable out there and even if you have problems Henry will take care of it for free.
Now that's why Chinese manufacturers will never be nr.1. They may produce hundreds of models each month for 10$ but customer service doesn't exist to be honest.
Regarding price and CRI it is the best match so far (NB and NC eitters). And it can be modded if you like so no problem again, tint wise.

My guess is for the next decade that we'll see HI CRI as standard everywhere. People noticed it and even now you can find monstrous output emitters.
LEP could be HI CRI also but my guess it will be more used as LO CRI and more often.

No comment on HDS. Not starting the new year getting yelled at😁 but LEP! Yep I'm thinking LEP is going to be to LEDS as leds were to incandescent. If that makes sense. They have a ways to go but once they figure out how to put some spill in that beam the world of lights will change.also agree with you on Malkoff. Malkoff is one that has not forgotten that lights should and are meant to be used.Hes not tailoring his stuff for a few he makes stuff for everyone. No doubt in my mind he's working on some great stuff for next year. And you can bet it will work.

nichia- It's one thing to have an opinion and tactfully word it. That's generally what happens here. The other options are: 1- Say nothing if you've nothing nice to say. 2- Start a jeer thread within the guidelines given for such. You've been here long enough to understand that. And, I think most members know that. I'm not thinking you can help yourself though. This saddens me. Happy 2020!

My post above obviously in reference to nichia's reference to HDS. I didn't want an "edit" on my post in case of confusion.

Nichia- WOW. Good thing for you I'm not a mod, because I'd just shut this thread down.
Your #10 prediction is just fishing for combat.
Too bad HDS already has a 225 lumen high CRI light that costs under $300 AND HDS is the ONLY flashlight maker I've ever seen to post actual test results of the flashlight showing an actual 15 step CRI result, meaning they are testing the light with a much more demanding test than most/all other manufacturers who use an LED that is "90+ CRI" that really can't cut it on a full 15 step test.
Educate yourself before you start slinging accusations or making outrageous claims or slandering a truly good manufacturer with your petty ridiculousness. You love your Chinese made lights and think they're "winning the war"? Good. Go buy those.

I like HDS but I want them to be better. They can do better if they want

I won't start jeers thread because I don't want to and don't have anything against them

I only wish they give us more

I know HDS is popular around here but I AM NOT afraid to speak up and say what's in my mind

Thankfully, others here aren't afraid to opine on your opinion. Or, you know, present facts that are publically available to contradict your opinion.

Somebody's not happy unless he's stirring the pot fishing for controversy.

Of course am happy and I wish everyone beautiful new year:) and NO am not looking for controversy I just want to see them doing better than this

I know you're fishing, and I'm okay with that. I'm clearly my mother's son, and I won't shy away from a good old fashioned debate. So I'll bite right onto your lure you've cast out. One thing that ALWAYS catches my attention and drives me nuts is when people use extremely generalized and non specific points in a debate. So that's right where I'll start.
What, pray tell, does "I want them to be better" or "They can do better" or "I just want to see them doing better than this" mean, exactly? What is "better"?

I.F.- I would have been fine with your quotes above, as they invite discussion. Point 10 wasn't that.

You know what? Let's have a "How HDS can do better" thread started. And maybe a predictions thread without bashing manufacturer(s) if anyone wants to go that route. This one won't end well... Thread closed. 🙂

Edit-My apologies to InvisibleFrodo, I wasn't clear and edited my post above to show "Point 10" , not post 10. Carry on!
