Names/bins of LEDs

From extensively reading CPF I can figure out that XM-L LEDs are newer and brighter than most others, and I have a general feel for some others, but I'm lost for the most part when people start talking about different emitters, bins, etc. For example, my Quark Mini 123 is an 'S2', but I have no idea what's so special about an S2. Is there a thread or website that lists the different LEDs and variations of each of them?

There is a whole board on CPF dedicate to LED emitters and technology. Just as you click on "LED Flashlights" to get to this board, keep scrolling down for the board that just says "LED". You will find lots of helpful information but this thread in particular might be of interest:
