I have dining area light 4 bulbs that is left on 20 hours a day. They use medium base incandescents--which I hate color and inefficiency. I constantly unscrew all but one or two, she constantly puts back to four. And I haven't been able to locate cfl medium base lights. I see a ton of candelabra cfls at the stores.

Where a I buy a converter (or instructions to make) for a candelabra to medium socket. Or just buy a medium base cfl?

I think a candelabra is e12 and regular is E26. I would be looKing for a base of e17?

hit two online stores that sell only bulbs and no luck. The "medium" meant bulb size, not socket.

Thinking of soldering on a wire around base of a cfl candelabra. In a test however, I got an arc from positive to negative that melted some of the metal on small base. I don't wish to save electric by lighting with fire.
