I was hopeing someone with experience in HID lighting could help me. I am looking for and HID spotlight with the following limitations in mind:

Al least a 35 watt bulb
the smaller the size the better
Under $200 w/ shipping (shipping to HI is high)
either a runtime of 2hr or easily changable batteries to get 2hr runtime

As far as the use, I my friends and I walk the shore/reef (shallow waters) looking for fish and sealife at night. I always bring a few led lights, but I like to carry and HID because the throw and overall output is what I need.

I was thinking of purchasing a stanley HID (since i can get it localy) and somehow modifying it with an internal battery pack to get a 2hr runtime, but I'm new to battery packs and runtime, so I'm not sure if this is possible. I also did not want to strap an extra pack outside unless it can be protected due to the sea spray.

I had a mega-illuminator but it recently broke as well as it being kind of large for my likeing. I was also concidering a POB but with shipping it is kind of high, plus it would need to be modified for longer runtime.

Thanks for any suggestions, I hope I'll be able to find something.

The Stanely would allow the use of it's internal battery for about 30 minutes and, even though you don't want an external pack, will allow simple plug-in of an external 12 Volt pack, no special wires or mods.

I don't recall what the Battery Junction N30 is going for these days but it meets pretty much all your requirements except I think it would give about 95 to 105 minutes instead of 120. You could buy a second pack also and just throw it in when the first one dies.
