I am new to building lights and would appreciate your input. I would like to build a spotlight for hunting using red led's that would throw a decent spot up to 200yards. My goal is to have a light that would last up to 4 hours or so of intermittant use. Can you recommend what bulb and battery combination I would need to do this?

Red leds that reach out to 200 yards...
I would think that you need quite a lot of the high-effenciy Red-orange Luxeon III if the little orange color works for you, this and some narrow-angle optics for them...
Maybe a five Luxeon III red-orange with the carclo 2 degree optics...
