i want to install two headlights on my garden tractor. i bought two 4w led #1156 bulbs and have some cheapo fixtures that use a #67 bulb. (free thanks to the dumpster at work) they have an amber or red lens and the bulbs just barely fit with the lens on.

i temporarily hooked them up to see what they'd do. they have a 90 degree beam pattern with the reflector that comes with it. i'd like to focus them more but don't know what to use or where to start. i'm not set on using these fixtures, so if anyone knows of a better one to use please let me know.

and here they are in the garage without any other lights on... as you can see theres no focus point.

You won't get any kind of focus out of a multiple point light source in a reflector meant for a single point light source. Each light source(individual LED) will have to have it's own reflector, or you'll need to switch to a single point light source to suit the reflector.

If you have the charging system for it, I'd grab a set of cheap foglights.

Are you going to be driving this tractor at night often?

PnP LED bulbs are notoriously poor performers. They look like just like three 4-chip LEDs in a small heatsink.

IMO it might be a decent idea to just get a good LED flashlight, and fab up some way to mount it to the tractor. Then just take it off the tractor and use it around the house or in your car.

well not really. probably only to clear snow a couple times in the evening.

i mostly just bought the lights to see what they could do, i really only need to see about 5-10ft infront.

i do have my olight m20 i could make a mount for but i would rather have hard wired lights on it.

its a 1971 john deere 112. i don't know how much the charging system can handle. it doesn't come with any lights from the factory.
