I just got my 9aa adapter from fivemega, and it's awesome. I didn't have any charged up batteries, but the one's I had were putting out nearly 8v under a load(with light on). They weren't hot enough to light the 1185 very well, so I put an 1160 in it. it is noticeably brighter than the stock mc, and a little brighter than my ultrastinger with an 1160 in it. My question, though, is how to get a tighter beam. I would like it to look more like a spotlight, with a tight hotspot without all the spill. I like carrying flashlights while coon/coyote/hog/etc. hunting at night, so I want to be able to throw a pretty tight spot on a tree 200+yds(or as far as possible) out. would the 2.5" or 3" throwmaster do this, or would it widen it? thanks, I appreciate all the great info I've found here.

Well, IMO is increasingly dificult to get tighter beam as when you put brighter bulbs in it. This difficult is because the bulbs more powerful have bigger filament.

I have a MC60 and indeed the beam [hotspot] is bigger and brighter than with stock bulb. I think the Throwmaster will provide a tighter beam for your light, or maybe the bi-focal reflector.

I can't guarantee it, but someone here will help you and indicate the most convenient option.

Cheers
Dioni
