Wow, cool. Wonder when they will offer the R4.

Re: New AA/14500 Dereelight C2H {V2}

hey wow.. cool if it fits the older c2hs too..

this extension tube for aa sized lion might bring my c2h back to rotation as my edc lights.

just couldnt find the "buy now" button for the extension alone. :(

and as added bonus, the runtime should increase with the 14500 a bit too.

Drop Jay (aka FlashCrazy) a pm. I'm sure he can work something out as the Dereelight US dealer. =)

Yes, it'll fit the other C2H's. I'll have a few extensions next week, as well as the complete C2H's and pill/extension tube sets. :D

I'm waiting for the R4's to come out before I buy anymore lights.

Has anyone tried a 17500 to see if it is too wide? Jay, could you try it when you get the extensions in? I'd love to have some more runtime when needed.

In that picture, the head looks very different than the older C2H. If the tubes are interchangeable, I have no idea why.

Looking at my C2H right now, and to me the heads look the same. I think you are seeing the extension tube and mistaking it for part of the head.

There appears to be 3 parts to the C2H in that pic. The extra grippy area below the head is the extension tube. I think.

I'm a little bit disappointed they didn't smooth out the sharp corners near the tail button.

I wonder if they improved the driver. The runtimes on the C2H have been very poor. A lot of heat was generated for the amount of light produced.

I asked the same question to Alan at Dereelight a few days ago,
he said the extension will only accept AA size,..I was hoping it would take a 17500 size also.

~ It only makes sense the extension tube just fits AA/14500 size,
because this will keep the battery from sliding around inside the light.
I have four 17500 cells and only one actually fits the C2H battery tube.

Looking forward to seeing how the new C2H .9~4.2V driver works..

{it'll take cr123, RCR123, 14500 & AA}

I don't think it will (See orbital's post below). When I get them in, I'll check to be sure.

I'll talk to Alan about the sharp corners, perhaps they can change that on their next production run of body tubes. I never really noticed that, as I use more of the tip of my thumb to press the switch... but I can see how it would dig into some people's thumbs. The circuit is different now, but I don't know if the efficiency is improved.. we'll have to see. :candle:

Yep, same head. :) You're correct, the middle portion is the extension tube. It's very small.. it's the part with the longitudinal grooves in it.

Any thoughts of making an aspheric for this light? As far as I know it would be a first for this form factor/size light and would be fun as heck. It makes sense to do it on the C2H since it is upgradeable and could be used with current and future emitters.
