So I am looking at my pretty dim E1e and wondering what I can do to upgrade to LED. Looked around and didn't see anything, so I am wondering if someone can help me out. Thanks!

I just went through this myself. Youve got two simple options. One is get a NITECORE EXTREME and use just the head off of it. It will screw on the E1E body. Two you can get a TLS head from OPTICS HQ for the E1E. They only list one, its dual output, 20/140 lumens. They also have one they dont list which is a single output of 140 lumens but it only comes in HA finish. Theres also alot custom stuff you can get but its very hard to come by can be expensive. I went with the NITECORE EXTREME. Very well made and you access the different levels and modes by twisting the head.

Which model of the Nitecore Extreme are you refering to?
Is it any Nitrocore Extreme model?

Thanks,

@ Bigchelis ... yes any Nitecore Extreme head will screw straight onto a
E series body

Theres also the KX1, KL1, and E-MT micro tower modules from Koala/Yclo...if you can find one.

As TX101 stated any NITECORE EXTREME model will fit. I had forgot about the different models. You can get the CREE version or the GOLDEN DRAGON version, or the HA or Stainlesss bezel. Ive got the GOLDEN DRAGON version, I like it better than the cree because the hot spot is bigger and it fades out to the spill like an SSC. But be careful......once I got the NITECORE EXTREME it was a hard not to just get rid of the E1E and keep the NITECORE INTACT. Both are very nice, the SUREFIRE set up is a little longer.

The above is the only option mentioned so far that doesn't entail replacing the entire head of the flashlight, AIIRC, the ONLY one available period.

If you're open to an incandescent upgrade, you can get a E2e Bi-Pin socket from fivemega and use it with a Stion bulb and a 3.7V RCR123.

His prices are reasonable and his quality is top-notch.
