Hey: I just ordered an H51 Zebralight and plan to do run tests with the new 1500 cycle Eneloops (supposed to also have better low temp performance) versus primary lithium cells. I'd like to do tests at several difference temps. Has anyone already done this? Has anyone ever done it using the old version of the AA Eneloops? The Li cells are capacity rated about 50% higher than the 2000mah Eneloops, I want to know what the actual performance is, especially with the H51 chip, which seems ot have been optimised for Eneloops. TIA, Alan.

Like lithium primary cells, Powergenix nickel-zinc AA cells retain their voltage and runtime at low temperatures. They also have the same voltage as lithiums: About 1.6V under load.

They've gotten a lot of mixed to poor reviews, however. This chemistry may be the future, but I think I'll stick with Eneloops for now.

As soon as it gets cold here I will know how the eneloops do in cold weather since my flashlight lives in my car.

I will be running mine probably in -10 this winter

you could always test in a freezer...
