New Gorillatorch Blade

It seems they're catching on... a bit.

Joby have just released the Gorillatorch Blade, featuring a Cree XP-C emitter (appears to be behind some kind of optic), along with a rechargeable Li-Ion battery.

Useful enough, but who's going to be first to swap in a XP-G? :devil:

I like the original gorillatorch better, they should've just improved that one. It's cool that the light is removable though. Built in rechargeable is a nono though. Also preferred the wider head on the old one.

It'd be interesting to get one apart and see what kind of cell is in there.

If you were going to use it in odd spots (as it was designed for) wouldn't a smaller head be better?

If it had some modding potential, I'd be very keen to get ahold of one.

A nice, warm tint XP-G would be nice in there, then you could use it just about anywhere, even as room/tent/caravan lighting.
