New MRV Finishes

In the dealer section, Matt has posted that the MRV is in stock at BatteryJunction in two new finishes:
1) Black HAII w/ "Pearl Nickel" heat sink
2) Dark Gray HAIII w/ "Black Nickel" heat sink
I asked if the Black Nickel is polished shiny or not, but even if it is, IMO this is a step forward from the original release.
Looking forward to pictures of this one!

I just received my MRV and I suspect the finish is supposed to be black as in No 1 above. It does not look black to me though. I would describe the anodising as 'dark chocolate' colour - with chrome heatsink.


Here is a photo' of it with a 27LT for colour comparison.

I was expecting the finish to be grey, but this colour is very nice.

you don't happen to have a luxmeter around somewhere, do you? I'm curious if the new MRV version has improved throw on 18650 LiIon. LumaPower say: No, it's the same driver and reflector. But user Netkidz measured one MRV at over 13000 Lux at one metre. The first version had about 10000 Lux. Offtopic, I know.

Well seeing those pics, I would say mine was supposed to be HA, not black.... It's still 'dark chocolate' though.:laughing:


StefanFS ... No sorry - I'm not fortunate enough to have a Lux meter. I too would really like to know the output of this light. It's certainly the best thrower of all my leds.
