My srmini came in Friday. It has worked flawlessly and I couldn't be happier. The UI works well and was easy to pickup.

No, the turbo mode does not require you to hold down the button. One long push of the button turns the light on in the low mode. A double click takes you to Turbo Mode. A triple click takes it to strobe mode.

Am I an outlier in wishing these lights used HI LEDs? To get all those lumens, these sized lights always use multiple emitters with tiny reflectors, and the result is a floody light. XPL HI LEDs would sacrifice a few lumens (or will it?) but double the candlepower, that seems totally appealing to me. For my particular light usages, I can't find a fit for this light as-is, but think I could with HI LEDs.

Heh, I forgot I wrote that. I'm pleased as can be that we're seeing multi-emitter lights hitting the market that use XPL HIs... always made sense to me!
