Newbie needs advice on flashlight Lube

Can you tell me what type/brand of lubrication I should use on my flashlight threads? Also, are there any types of flashlight threads to which lube should not be applied (plastics, etc)?

I am presuming that "a little dab will do" as far as how much lube to apply. Is this correct? Also, how often should I apply, etc?????

Please see this thread. I think the general consensus is that silicone lubricants are best.

OK thanks for the link. Is Nyogel 760G a silicone lubricant? And where would one purchase such a product? I've never seen something like that at a hardware store.
