Nichia hi power LED

Hey folks,
The Nichia site now has some preliminary data on their forthcoming hi power LED.
Nichia.com is where ya wanna go. This may give Luxeon a real competetor, and that means a price war will be coming soon. We win!

Unfortunately for Nichia, They are going to be about a generation behind the Luxeons- The soon to be available Nichia looks like it will be a little brighter than the current ~1 watt Luxeon, but the new ~5 watt Luxeons will blow them away.

Would be nice if the ~1 watt prices would come down though.

Hi there!
I would like to view the Nichia web site but all I get is the word Nichia followed by a totally black screen! Is there an alterntive URL for us set-top box users??
Anyway, it is good that the Luxeon has now got some serious competition; this can only be good news for us torch modders as Nichia and Lumileds develop ever more brighter and more efficient LED's to compete with one another!
The race is now on..RIP Thomas Alva Edison...
filament bulbs have had thier day!
