Yesterday I noticed that my D11 switched on in my trouser pocket so I first thought that I forget to switch it off but today it happened a few times again even though I had put it in lockout mode.

Trying to figure out what might cause this, I tried the following:

I put the flashlight in lockout mode and than, while holding it in my right fist, I slap that fist with my left hand and sure enough, this made it switch on.

Here is a video that shows it:

Is this just a problem with my D11 or is it a design error?

I`ve just tried this with mine which just arrived just an hour ago and it doesn`t do this. I hit it really hard as well but it never comes on. I`m using a regular AA alk.

Mmmm.... so it looks that there is definitely something wrong with the one that I have.

Just wrote an email to Nitecore, I hope they know what causes it and have a solution. If not, I will have to send it back to the US for a replacement but I hope that will not be necessary.

Thanks.
Frans

fvdk, I've had similar problems with other single cell lights. The problem turned out to be that the battery cell was a bit longer than normal. Have you tried your light with a different cell that's perhaps a bit shorter?

Just a thought,

Dave

Hi Dave,
I tried with a standard alkaline as well but that didn't help, it even caused some other problems. I just received the D11 this week so I will send it back to the seller for a replacement.
