I bought this to be the donor for a Ti shell that I recently picked up, and I cannot believe the box this thing came in. The only things inside are the light, lanyard with spare O-rings, and the instructions. I can only assume they came out with his box so you would have something bigger to wrap and put under the tree?

Congrats!

mine arrived today also

I was disappointed to discover that,
the internals of EX11.2 are not a direct swap to EX10 bodies
the EX11.2 reflector diameter is too large to fit my EX10 Shell

the disassembly of EX lights is super easy:

there is not need to remove the gold contact ring
just unscrew the bezel, lift out the lens and O ring, and the reflector and pill drop out the front

Oh damn, will this lens not fit into the Ti shell I just bought?

before I tried it myself, I had hoped it would be a direct swap
but now, my guess is the EX11.2 guts are not a direct swap into your EX10 host

it is very easy for you to verify

just unscrew the EX11.2 bezel, pull the guts out, and drop them into your EX10 shell

since my experience is that the 11.2 reflector is too large for my EX10 host, you can just confirm that first..

The 11.2 reflector would not drop down into my EX10 Host, and I could not screw the bezel back on.

The Ti EX10 is not here yet, if this one doesn't work for the donor, that'll be a bummer.

unintended outcomes
I was also disappointed

otoh
The EX11.2 is still a very nice piston light.
It makes over 300 lumens on 16340, with a nice 0.2 sublumen low.
And it is easily modded to 219b.

Im really enjoying the Ramping UI, and compact size.

Indeed, not the end of the world @ $35.

Oh well, I guess the search for an EX10 begins.

Wow a EX10 Ti shell. Cool. What Ti shell is this? Russtang? Steve Ku? If you have pictures I cant wait to see the shell.

Btw. in case you are willing to part I'd take the Ti shell. I should have somewhere a mint EX10, and also a few D10s :D That are spare parts for my Steve Ku D10 and EX10 Ti collection.

Jetbeam RRT-01, as pictured in post #9 above
I will PM you where to buy info

Do I recall correctly that these clips also fit the Jetbeam RRT-01 reissue?
If so, I may get one also.
Should also pick up an Ex11.2 at that price.
Too bad they won't fit the V10r.

yes, I find the short clip from the Original RRT-01 and Eye10 much more comfortable

update, I have just determined that these light are unregulated, if that is important to your application, message me for more details before you buy

bear in mind that most people would not notice a lumen drift of less than 50% with their eyes, in actual use.

here is a more extreme drift example, way more than 100%

these are stock unmodified lights in the video, this effect is not caused by an LED swap

By contrast the 10.0 driver has rock steady output regulation on both Primary and LiIon. (same 75 lumen max output on both chemistries)

EX11.2 using CR123 shows regulated output

So I only recommend the 11.2 lights if you intend to use Primaries, not LiIon.
