Nitecore i4 sliders won't slide

I'm gentle with this thing... but 1st one, and now a 2nd of the 4 sliders are stuck and won't slide at all to allow me to insert batteries. It's old enough to not be under warranty.

I'm afraid to force it too hard for fear of breaking the whole thing. It's a shame because it's been great until this happened.

Any ideas?

Can you see any obstructions in the channels, or have you had any issues with the springs inside before?
