HHGRREGG.com had pretty decent deals on Eneloops around Christmas. Even free shipping. Then they removed it from the web site, but you could still order for a while using one the the Google cached pages. Now I check the web site again and the Eneloops are all but gone. Do they carry Eneloops in store? why don't they sell it on the web site?

any other place with cheap prices?

Their stores carry them but I missed them the first time I went in there. Look for a tall thin rack with the eneloops about eye level. Last time I got some they were 7.99 for AA and 6.99 for AAA I think. Great price. Mine are holding up very well.

yeah, I read that they carry them in stores, but I don't have a store here in NJ :(

Why don't they sell these online? Bummer.

I have a friend in Columbus and I think they have a store there, I could ask him to pick up some, but then I am not sure it's worth the effort. Unless I buy a large batch, like 10 packs or so.

I am simply amazed how well these Eneloops perform. I put some in my dSLR at Thanksgiving last year and they're still going strong. Sure, I have not use the camera much, but when I use it they're putting out juice, when my regular NiMh would have been dead after 2-3 weeks of sitting idle.

Speaking or regular NiMH, I have some Duracell 2650, I think they're made in Japan, boy, I charged them last week with a LaCrosse BC-900, they took in 2.8 Ah, now a week later the voltage dropped to 1.1-1.2 V and I put them in the charger again and they took another 2Ah and they're still going! Looks like they lost almost all juice in a week, and they're almost brand new, maybe one year old, but less than 10 cycles I would guess. I have not used them much since I got the Eneloops.

Now I need more AA and looks like all these regular NiMH are crap these days, I have better luck with older 1850 mAh Energyzers, or I should buy only LSD like Eneloop or in worst case Hybrids.

But no more regular, "over-inflated" AA NiMH, thank you, I had enough.

I too made an initial Eneloop at HHGREG.COM when they first arrived. I like them so much that 20 AA and 8 AAA aren't enough anymore...

I found a great deal (thanks CPF) at www.batterybob.com

The prices are a bit higher than HHGREG, and they only come in two packs, but they offer free shipping to make this a great deal still. And for me, an AWESOME deal because they shipped to my APO address for free also.

Two AA batteries: $5.14
Two AAA Batteries: $4.19

20 AA and 8 AAA shipped: $68.16 (Beat that)

Just a bump, but I checked a local store and while they were marked $9.99, I had the punk, er, kid scan them. He looked at the package and showed me that they were 9.99, but I asked him to scan them anyway. After scanning them four times he finally said they were $7.99. I bet he kept rescanning hoping that they would ring up at $9.99......

I asked a rep when they removed them from their web site. The reason she provided was they really weren't making any money on them at the price they were offering them for and they were getting flooded with orders. She'd said that they were only available in-store.

I bought two 4-packs (1 AA & 1 AAA) yesterday at HHGregg for $7.99 ea. The Circuit City nearby had the AA for $14.99 and the AAA for $9.99, glad I went to HHGregg! They too had to go scan the price until I showed them one with the price marked. The whole transaction took almost 15 minutes. I think all the 11 salespeople were salivating thinking I was buying a Big Screen!! Nope, just batteries today folks.

Another salesman came over and tried to strike up a conversation and told me he used rechargeables, but when I told him the difference with Eneloops, he kinda got lost and slithered away.....
