First I'm hearing about this too. I like Nuwai...not the most efficient circuits, but their overall mfg quality was pretty good. Of all the ones I had in various models, I never had threads that wouldn't fit, blatant ano/finishing issues, electronics problems (that weren't caused by my poor modding skills), etc. that I've seen so often in many of the other chinese lights.

I have seen some prototypes of Cree based flashlights from Favourlight (the factory that makes Nuwai rebranded flashlights) and they look great. However I can not give any prices or delivery schedules. I'm looking forward to see them show up on the store shelfs
