I am using Nyogel 760G on all flashlight threads and silicone o-rings. It seems to work good on metal threads (but it gets sticky after some time). The O-rings are a different story, it doesn't matter how much Nyogel I put there, after some time the nyogel "disappears" or dries out, leaving just a dry white coating.
This happens on my Tikka XP for example, there is a huge O-ring arround the battery box, it takes maybe 1-2 weeks and the nyogel is dry. Maybe because the o-rings are more exposed to air and it dries out?
I was expecting something like from other lubes (petrol based), they can be exposed to air for years, and they are still viscous.
The reason I am asking - I am going to dissasemble my Tikka XP (to do a Seoul mod), I would also like to put some nyogel on the silicone o-rings inside (arround the lens, buttons and battery indicator). But it wouldn't make sense if the nyogel will get dry after few days and the o-rings loose waterproofness.
Anyone experience this?
