For almost as long as I used CPF I was on Omegle which was this random stranger chat site. I started on something called Chatroulette after someone from Northolt found a seperate site that let you see what people in your area were doing on it. Long story short they, and most other people on there, were a bunch of tossers. I found one seemingly normal man from NL and he was telling me how he would buy explosives on the black market and detonate them in front of glass doors and windows of shops and upload videos of this to the Youtube.
All this sketched me out as I was a normie that thought the internet was mostly for academic purposes at the time(2009.) I then looked for some place that was only text based because the concept was sound but maybe people were to antisocial for video chats at the time. I then discovered Omegle.
At first I was exchanging music recommendations with people all over the world and met some Chinese and tutored ESL but not on there but MSN messenger.
Later on they got a question section where you could ask a question and watch people discuss the topic. By then the quality of people on the site was in much decline with too many sexters and feminists just roaming around freely so I would settle on some kind of comment that was certain to offend. Other times, especially if I had been drinking, I would cycle through to find an offensive statement and agree with it. This would provide hours on end of fun.
Once I even made some offensive statement, passed out, woke up hours later to see them arguing. It was all a lot of fun. At some point I started to get banned which seemed inconsistant with what I had been doing because it would never be when I was trolling but maybe being repetative in writing messages.
I got pretty good at ban evasion by Toring up and filling out captchas but eventually that came to an end and by the time I'm back on the net it is all bots and the rare asl asker.
Well it has been taken down by the owner a few days ago and there are a few other similar sites which I frequent.
Here was a chat today and I never got an answer to my question. ;_; Anyone else use these things?
