Opening the Ugly Light

Guys,

If I want to open-up my Ugly Light to check out the guts, where does it open at the front..A, B or C?

I don't want to crack-open in the vise something that has no threads!

It opens at A and C. I suggest you start with A. I've never opened it at C. If you want the dot to correctly line up with Hi, Med, and Lo keep this in mind when you take the reflector/pill assembly out and put in back in the same way. If you don't do this it will still work but the dot will not be correctly aligned.

The way they usually work is that they can be lined up when the light is on Hi for instance but you can move the dot somewhat to the right or left and it will still be on hi since all you are doing is moving a magnet and you have to move it some distance before it leaves the field of one switch (reed switch, hall effect sensor or whatever it uses) and into the field of the next sensor.

If you take it apart and don't align it correctly it may say hi when you have it off or on lo or whatever.
