"Options" for older SF KL3 head?

Having recently acquired an older KL3 head I would like to know what options there are for modding it.
It is the older style head with fins somewhat similar to this one:

The only lettering on it is "KL3" and "A00443" which I presume is the serial number.

What flashlight(s) originally came with this head anyway? It fits on my old school Surefire 6P and it fires up just fine but the output is of course somewhat lackluster in comparison with newer LEDs. Was this head designed to run on 6V (2 X CR123)?

This is probably not something that I would attempt to mod myself. For one thing it looks like it would require a special tool just to remove the bezel ring/retainer.

This head just seems like it would be a really good candidate for an upgrade or mod. I like the fine machining and bold look that it has.

Check out milkyspit, I suggest his Seoul P4 Blowtorch treatment which is cheap but he also has a MC-ELuminator option.

The mods that Milkyspit has done are really amazing. I like the KL3 P7 Optimator mod.

What flashlight body would be a good match-up with the KL3 head? Would it fit on an M6 body or just the C, P, & Z series bodies?

Yep P,C,Z.

Leef 18mm bodies are nice. A C3 body would balance out the longish head pretty well too.
