Well,
Rather than lose the PM I just typed out to Milkyspit, I figured I would post it to get some insight(no pun intended) from you light modders. Here is the PM.
PS: Milkyspit if you are reading this clear your PM box!

Hi Milkyspit,
I am a lurker of the forums and have recently had some more ambitious goals with lights than just buying factory produced torches. I purchased an Insight X2 Weapon light that was re-branded the XML by Springfield Armory. For all practical purposes, this light is exactly the Insight X2. Anyways, this light uses a single CR2 battery with a switching mechanism that appears to rotate the bulb and flip the light on and off. Here are some links that might help you to get better acquainted with the setup:
Link to manufacturer's page: http://www.insighttechgear.com/products-x2.htm
Link to actual incandescent bulb (this is the part that rotates): http://www.productwizard.com/insightcfl010.html
Link to bezel assembly (for closer look at factory equipment): http://www.productwizard.com/insightcfl009.html

Another picture of the assembly minus the bezel: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y38/hovisimo2/misc085.jpg
Anyways, that gives you a little background. What the ultimate goal here is, is to convert this incandescent weapon light to LED. The current light puts out a claimed 40 lumens powered by one CR2 battery. I would be happy with an LED conversion that would match this output, but I would be thrilled with an LED conversion that would exceed this brightness. I assume that the way the bulb rotates and the overall assembly will give us some limitations, but I am curious to hear your opinion on what can be done to this light. I would like to hear a ballpark figure on how much you believe it would cost to have you do something like this for me including cost of parts and labor. I will not hold you to a price, just shoot me some sort of estimate.
I am excited to hear back from you and to see what kind of work you can do for me. Talk with you soon. Thanks,
Chris Macaluso
PS: I can take more pictures of my own light at any and all angles as well as video if you would like to see how the light works further.
