That's pretty normal. Relative to the P60: Brighter light = Larger, longer filament = oval shape. The shape of the spot is affected by the size and shape of the filament in all lights.

My P91 in my M2 bezel on my SF 9P is perfectly circular. It's the most fantastic beam I've ever seen in a flashlight of any kind.

That's funny! Sotto's probably is "defective" - relatively speaking - the reflector is probably bent slightly into an oval shape (90 deg. to the filament) creating a round beam.

In this case, getting a "defective" one is lucky!

SF has different batches... knowtise some reflector's texture are fine(smoother) than another batch... the rougher texture produces rounder beam than the smoother ones...
I personnally encountered this problem

i knowtise there is a difference in throw between the finer textured reflector and the rougher one... the finer textured LA has an obvious throw increase bout 20% although the beam is slightly oval compaired to the rougher textured LA (has round beam)...
I m currently using the finner textured LA as i prefer more throw, i keep my other LA in the spares carrier

besides P60, i think most LA from SF has a oval beam ... true? (at least from what i saw .. )

Did you know that Popeye was based on a lie? It was believed that Spinach had more Iron than other vegies and supposedly gave you strength. BULL! There was a misprint a while back where, on the back of a spinach can the decimal was moved over to make the Iron level 10 X more than its actual level.

btw does a lamp produce lesser light when used for some time? how much dimmer would it be?(in rough percentage)

Sometime = how long? 20mins? 30 mins? For my 6P w/ P60...30mins lost 20-30% brightness after 30mins continuous.Something like that. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

wat i mean is fresh batteries for 2 lamps... one old and one new... will the old be dimmer? by roughly how much?
