I followed Nerelus's instructions for replacing the PD1 Ce's Cree XE with the Seoul P4.

I am a newbie to this but it went very smooth and this was my first modification.

In case anyone else is interested here are the results;

1. All Rings are gone.
2. It appears , in my mind, quite a bit brighter than it was.
3. It runs about 3 minutes longer on my 3.7 rechargeables
4. It runs slightly cooler.

If any one has any questions let me know.

Great to hear that you got it finished, Jrnioa!

. Your results are very similar to mine.

Did you change the reflector also?

Yes, I changed the reflector also and followed your instructions exactly.

The reflector sizing was a bit tough but it worked well.

Seems the latest P4 Led's from the sandwich shop are whiter than say, what's in my amilite t5.

In my opinion, Fenix should use this mod instead of what they are doing for the PD1 CE now.

also..I hear that a 135Lumen/Watt Seoul chip will be released soon and I can't wait to pop that one in to replace this 100L/W P4!

Nereus, thanks again for all of your help!

Nereus, or anyone, notice that my new ssc p4 has clouded over...seems just as bright though...anybody know what this means or why? thanks!

I had a quick look on my modded P1D-CE and I could not see the same - led looks like brand new.

Would you please post a pic of your P1D-CE?

Should this be discussed in the mod forum...?

I know that there are other P1D-CE+Seoul+McR20s mod projects going on and other CPFers might be interested in your findings, too. Above all, I want to update my guidelines for the mod if your findings give a reason for that.
