Good Evening Ladies & Gentlemen,

I have started this post to help with any questions anyone may have about PEAK LED SOLUTIONS. Let me take a moment to say that I will do my very best in helping you on this subject only. I ask that we keep it only on this subject in respect for others here in the forum /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif. Thank you so much! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

With that said, here we go fire away at will! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/xyxgun.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/popcorn.gif

Hi DallasA,

If this thread is supposed to be in the dealer manufacturer forum, I trust a moderator or administrator will move it accordingly. I actually don't know myself nor do I have any authority if I did know.

I ordered one of your brass AAA's with 3 LED's just to see what it is all about! Can you streamline the shipping aspect with some suggested rates or something?

Regarding the light itself, I am assuming that you are taking a 5 mm LED and machining off the epoxy skirt to fit it into your lights? Would this be the "custom" aspect to the LED?

Thanks,

Don

I am not sure on this, if Dano or Craig could answer this for both of us I would be more then happy to move it.

I would say the cheap way would be USPS Priority Flat Rate. We will ship anyway you like USPS, FEDEX, UPS. You can verify charges at their websites use Zip code 85331. This item will becoming from our Cave Creek Arizona Office.

I don't know if this thread needs to be moved either, so I'll just leave things alone for the time being.

Re: Peak Led Solutions Questions & Answers by Dall

Thanks Dallas,

*If* the thread needs to be moved, I'm sure it will be done. I saw on your web page some time ago what looked like some clustered lights having more than 3 LED's. I assume that your line will be including some larger lights than those currently shown on E-Bay as well?
OK, one last Q for now, do you have any plans for Luxeon based lights? If so, can you let the cat out of the bag now? If not or no comment, I understand.

Thanks.

Re: Peak Led Solutions Questions & Answers by Dall

Luxeon - heck, I want to see some of the other high-powed LEDs in flashlights. Lumileds has owned the market for far too long.

Don, how did you order one? I thought they weren't "official" until May 17th. What is the cost?

Re: Peak Led Solutions Questions & Answers by Dall

Peak LED Solutions seems to be addressing a currently unfilled open niche. The light seems to me to be a logical evolution for the AAA formfactor. Run time might drop to 2 hours, but for some that might be an appropriate tradeoff against brightness. Tanstafl! An AAA formfactor light isn't patentable per se, despite what Mag would like to think. Some of the tiny LS mods that have shown up here on the AAA and N formfactors have received much praise and there is an open niche waiting to be filled. Open niches are candy for capitalists, and I for one am thankful for capitalists. First to market wins until the competition catches up. The key is innovation and customer service/satisfaction. Time will tell for PS, and I would have bought one to see for myself if I was reg'd w/ebay.

idleprocess,

You're not alone but from what I can gather, Cree, Nichia and Oshram to name a few are still in catch up mode.

Geepondy,

I followed a link in another thread to E-Bay where I then clicked on all of the auctions currently being run by Peak. Since this thread is in LED forum and Dallas has started it as a Q&A, I don't think I want to open the can of worms of showing where specifically these are for sale. If you do a search on Peak Solutions on E-Bay, I think you will find some lights.

Re: Peak Led Solutions Questions & Answers by Dall

Rp42995,

If I understood Dallas correctly, there are no handling charges in addition to actual shipping charges. She suggests that you go to the web site of your preferred shipper and calculate the shipping fees. I opted for USPS priority mail and I know their charge is $3.85 for up to one pound. I added a bit for a cushion and completed the transaction as such. I requested notification if there were additional fees required.

I believe the intent of this thread is Q & A on the product itself and not a solicitation for sales. Such a solicitation should be placed in the dealer/ manufacturer forum.

Dallas,

Perhaps you can state when opening day will be and we can look forward to a post in the manufacturer/ dealer forum on that day for the full skinny?

back on topic, can you tell us what type of regulation is used in these lights?

Their wife’s might not like that /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/whoopin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dedhorse.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/twakfl.gif. Will have details here on this in the AM.

So far not bad /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif. I need to go find some time to get a catnap in /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sleepy.gif. Good Night to CPF Members I wish you pleasant dreams and I will be back tomorrow to answer more questions. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink2.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif

Re: Peak Led Solutions Questions & Answers by Dall

Dallas,

You mentioned some higher power lights. I hope, as the name of your company implies, that you are not getting into the HID business. If you are, I'm a dead man - I've already blown my next 2 years budget on HIDs /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/broke.gif.

I have, however, been saving a little reserve for the promised exciting new products from Peak Solutions /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/clap.gif.

You've got a lot of competition from some of our more creative CPF members. This should be interesting and fun /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/party.gif. I'm looking forward to seeing what you've got /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/popcorn.gif - I just hope my wallet can stand it.

Re: Peak Led Solutions Questions & Answers by Dall

I too am interested in the regulation used on the items listed on ebay (single AAA and double N cell lights). Specific questions, is the N cell version brighter then then the AAA version? I assume the N cell version must be thicker and longer then the AAA version? Also are there any advantages to brass over anodized alumium other then preferred looks? Disadvantages such as it might deform easier? Perhaps other's can answer the last two questions.

I for one, never really cared either way, as long as it's somethin' with at least one light emitting diode in it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
