Anybody mod a Pelican 7060? I think it comes with a XRE led and was wondering if a Q5 or R2 would make much difference.

I doubt it would be worth it. Ibelieve the 7060s were already Q2 or Q3s s you're looking at a very small jump in output to go to Q5 or R2.
IMO if I were going to break open a 7060 I'd want the difference to be more substantial. I might consider swapping in a neutral or warm white LED for improved color rendition at about the same overall output.
Or I might try installing an MC-E, for an output that is more floody, but also more ovearll output (the efficiency will be a lot higher on an underdriven MC-E than a single overdriven XR-E).
One could even go for both changes at once by installing a warm or neutral white MC-E.

The reflector I think is pressed in, so getting it out without damaging it will, I think, be a challenge.

Thanks guys for your responses. I was asked to mod it for a cop as his backup light. His duty light is a stock stinger, how boring, hee, hee.

Is it possible to put a P7 in it? The head is designed for throw but I need more flood. Any modder who can do this and still retain the stock battery please PM me.
