Pentagon Light X3, Surefire Tailcap....

I have a couple of Pentagon Lights an X3 and an x2. I understand they are out of business but are apparently still doing warranty work. I became a little worried though about whether they were supportable long term. What can I say, I'm hard on stuff!

I have gleaned that with the x2 I should be able to use most any P60 type replacement lamp. That's good as they are pretty much standard.

I started playing around with the x3 that I keep on my desk. I happened to have a Surefire 6P handy. Just for grins I swapped the tailcap from the Surefire to the x3 and it worked! Now if I can just figure out a way to keep the lamp going on the x3 I'll feel alot better but at least I know I have "fixes" for some of the possible future problems.

Certain combination of SF tailcaps and X3s won't work, it depends on the tailcap and the generation of X3 (I think there are at least 2 generations).
