Heading up to the cabin for 4 days and leaving tomorrow night late. Since there is no electricity, we use propane lights and fridge, I tossed in the Sportsmans Guide LED lantern for any outdoor at night stuff. I packed my Streamlight Stylus Pro for myself, along with my pocket carried L0PSE, and the X0 (Tiros) on a neck lanyard for my wife, since she likes to scan the yard for skunks when she walks out to the outhouse at night and I DONT want it dropped down the hole...

Of course this does not include the car carried X03 (Tiros) and 5 C Cell maglight which are always there, or the Photons on both our keychains.

I second this motion and further stipulate that you need at least one LED light based upon multiple Cree dice or TFFCs, plus one Hot-wire of minimum 50 watts, and one HID lamp.
:D

Enjoy the time away

I think I have enough lights for 4 days, I am however taking my Makarov, Ruger Sp101, Redhawk, and 1911 and plenty of ammunition for us both practicing, does that count? If I shoot at after sunset it will make plenty of light, especially the 4.5" ported modded Redhawk :)

Yep, the Redhawk should do it. If you get a chance, shoot a CZ52 at night. The 7.62x25 puts out about 10ft of fire and is nearly as loud as the R'hawk. My RH is a 5 1/2.

No INOVA T1? I am sure you will have enough lights, just seems a shame to leave it behind.I always think I need to have an X5 as well just in case all else fails. At any rate I am sure that 4.5" .44 will put on a nice fireworks show in the evening.:D

As a Flashaholic, I would have thought you would have enough EDC lights on you for a mere 4 days! Those on me can easily last for 6 days at least!!!!

You are quite correct, I would have to say that my regular EDC L0PSE and two Photon IIs would definitly be more than enough for 4 days normal usage. The reason I added the Stylus Pro was for a bit more range and a slightly longer light is something easier to use quite often.

I had considered the T1, it is a very nice light and I could see it popping into the glove box without my knowing in case I needed a Tactical light.

I was only kidding. The last time I went off for a weekend trip I took all my EDCs at the time (P3DCE, Inova 24/7, Favourlight 3W Headlamp and many Chinese Protons) and grapped a few more bigger lights. Sometimes we just don't know when to stop, do we?

Got back today, 3 of the lights were used. My wife used the X0 every night on her bathroom trips, and back and forth from the campfire pit. I used the Stylus Pro for the same purposes, and have determined that I will pick up the Microstream version also, it is a great little light, with all the output I need, and then some for almost any daily task and it slips so nicely into jeans pockets or the pocket of sweatpants. The Sportsman Guide lantern hung from a nail in the outhouse and provided all the light in the bathroom itself that was needed.

I didn't notice all the guns you brought when I saw this thread earlier. I say you should have taken a Surefire X300 to go with them.

An excellent point !!

Although I'll bet that the 4.5" Redhawk with some Remington 180 grain JHP's would put out quite a few lumens...that load is a flame thrower !!:poof:

Hello,

The Streamlight Stylus Pro is also one of my favorites. Great light that is never a burden to carry.
I like the Makarov also! I'm a great fan of pocket handguns, the favorites being my Browning 1910 .32, the Beretta 950B .22short and my classic Colt Detective Special. I actually like these handguns more than my larger ones (Python etc.)

Kind regards,
Joris

If the Surefire X300 is a weapon mounted light I would not have a place to put it. None of the firearms I own have rails for lights or lasers, I have thought about the new S&W Thunder Ranch .45 ACP revolver with its rail system a time or two. So getting a rail gun is not out of the question in the future.
