Pico Illuminator

Someone stop me, I couldn't resist. I made another mod /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Introducing the Pico Illuminator:

Shown here next to an N cell.

The housing is made from the bulb socket of a D cell MagLite. After a little machining, and some other magic, all the parts fit. This makes for a virtually indestructible steel case, yet fairly light due to it's size.

The modified Pill is powered by two LR44 batteries, and the combination heatsink/reflector takes care of any excess heat.

A very bright key chain size mod, with a steel case for durability.

Recycling parts also makes this a mod I'm very pleased with. Now, it's only a couple hours until zero dark hundred, then I'll be able to really play, er test this light out. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

The nano-mate runs on an N cell, and since the Pico is the size of an N cell, the Pico is smaller.

Of course, no keychain light would be complete without a way to attach your keys. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes, another recycled part, the original set screw makes for a nice way to attach your key ring. Without this, it would simply be the most "lost" flashlight due to its size.

Oh My GAWD!!! Most excellent mod, Sensei! And the built-in focus wheel screw is perfect for keychain-ing. I think we are very near the end-all be-all of the Mother of Keyring Lights, right here.

Try using a 1/3 N cell instead of 2 LR44s. I use 2 1/3 N cells instead of 4 LR44s in my SL Key Mate and it seem yo have a better run time.
