I received my Pila via Pila Torches in HK via EMS (1-week delivery) yesterday. Being in Southeast Asia, it was more convenient to buy it near to home (Philippines). Paid for it via US$ bank draft, as they only accept such and Paypal. Sent my payment thru express courier, paying $9.-. Now on the my short review.
I ordered five 168s, a 3.7 bulb and two BC2 AC charger -- for me and a friend. They came in three standard Pila boxes-- each for charger and the last for the batteries, bulb and springs. Boxes are quite nice and looks like that of a watch. Each charger comes with two copper adapter for 150s, although this will have no use for me (for now). Each 168s is provided with a spring extender.
The batteries came pre-charged. I tested it into the charger, but the LED indicator was already green.
Pila works for me on the following :
KL1 : Pila 168s have flat 'positive' terminal rather than prominently protruding such as that of a 123 or AA. Thus I have to extend the primary contact of the KL bezel by using and extracted 'positive' terminal of a dead AAA. Works with 1 battery using an E2-body or 2 batteries with an E2-body plus 2 DSpeck 123-ext.
PR-T : similar to KL1. Note : DB917 works in regulation under 1-cell. I have not yet noted the actual runtime that it remains in regulation. I still have to do some checks.
P90 (2 x Pila 168s) : works using a 6P Bezel + E2C + 1 Dspeck extender on a VGAA/3x123 body. I have to force fit the spring into the E2C as it (spring) was the actual 'negative' contact between the bulb and the body.
Pila 3.7 bulb (1 x Pila 168s) : successfully lights up on 6P bezel on a 6P body. The spring provided must be used to provide contact. I was also successful in using an E2C into an L4 body. Light output is about a P60 but with more dispersed hotspot and more yellowish rather than whiter incandecent. Head became warm when I used it for an extended period of about 5 minutes.
Except for the hiccup on the flat terminal nodes, Pila 168s works great so far.
