well, on duty I carry a Benelli Nova pump shotgun. Surefire does not make a dedicated forend . anyway I decided to get the curly paddle switch for my GL3R and I found a very nice mount from a company called lite mount technologies ( makes the mounts for laser devices ). Anyway after about 75 slugs and 75 rounds of 00 buck the light is running perfectly, 130 lumens at the business end of a 12 gauge is a beautiful thing /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif . The mount is rock solid, very subsatantial but lite weight, incredibly well machined and engineered, it contacts the entire magazine tube around the circumferance and there is no chance of it shooting loose. It places the light very close to the barrel just between the magazine tube and barrel so there is little chance of banging it on something and it is not in any way bulky. I really dislike the light being mounted below the magazine tube as it makes the gun les trim and has the opportunity to bang into things, besides it's harder to place the shotgun into a case. The paddle switch is sensative enough that you do not need to apply pressure in thoughtfull manner, just a light touch and the light is on. The curly chord lies along the side of the pump nicely so snagging is the least of my worries and it is unobtrusive. The switch housing has a momentary or constant on button mounted on the side instead of the back and the chord is mounted to the rear of the housing. Another really nice feature is that you can rotate the switch housing a small amount and the light is locked out so when the shotgun is in a soft side case there is no chance of pressure on the switch activating the light.
There's just something about having a bright blinding white light that obscures the bad guys view of you and then the sound of a shotgun round being loaded into the chamber that makes bad guys think twice about not obeying orders /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif
