I've been using PILAs positive end forward with many of my E2E mountable LED heads including McLux PR-T917s with no apparent ill effects, but I recall that my PILA GL4R owner's manual specified minus end forward. Of course the GL4R is incandescent and I think the PR-Ts are polarity protected (I hope), but it got me wondering if I was harming my LEDs or why it would make any difference to an incandescent bulb.

Any thoughts?

Re: PILAs + or - toward head?

If I recall, the Pila series of lights that have a led tailcap require the positive end to point toward the leds. It doesn't make any difference to the incan, but does to the leds.

Re: PILAs + or - toward head?

Perhaps the PILA LED tailcap isn't polarity protected.

Re: PILAs + or - toward head?

When using the clicky tailcap, Surefire, ect. I put the battery with the positive facing forward.

When using led tailcaps with positive facing forward, nothing happens but it will not damage the tail. Just turn the battery around and it will work.
