Sounds like a similar technology to whats used for Plasma Display Televisions.

30/lm per watt, may not be much... but resistance to heat and good efficiency.

They may replace CFL's someday.

I don't know how the phosphor thickness compares to regular plasma displays, but I suspect that it's significantly thinner and thus less likely to last a long time as the UV in the cells eats away at it.
