For those of us who run the VFD from the touch panel, ACTech just brought out a potentiometer option for the SMVector but only in the NEMA 4X version ...

Read about it here: http://www.actech.com/cgi-bin/site.pl?prprodpotkit

The option is so new that Wolf Automation doesn't yet show price.

That is actually very nice for many installations where the user wants to use only the main panel - no need for external panel, pot, wires, etc., plus this is NEMA 4 from the factory ;)

I like the speed pot on Hitachi drives, but hate the program loop. Hit a wrong button the other nite on the drive that controls the belt-disc sander & now the display reads A09 or something similar. I'll phone tech support some day & get the display back to Hz ... and then lock it down.

All of the drives that i have delt with have had the capability to accept a some sort of analog input and normally they will tell you what size potentiometer to use to be able to add a remote speed pot.

Barry do you have a link for the instillation manual for the SMVector drives?
