I was thinking you could maybe put a WA 1111 bulb in a tec 40. Is this possible? The voltage is right but would it be pulling to many amps off a AA? If it doesn't work with alkaline batteries then would it work with lithiums? I dont know if it will work so all posts will be helpful.

mdocod, are saying it will work? I don't care about the reflector because I can buy them at Brightguy for $2.50. If it would work it would be a great sleeper. :)

I believe that you would want to use NiMH rechargeables because of their high drain performance. Li-ions would put you as high as 16.8V...yikes! mdocod or one of the battery experts may be able to expound on this.

Patriot36 I was not talking about rechargable lions, I was talking about primary lithiums. But on the other hand lions could power some high output bulbs. :naughty: If NiMH work this might actualy be a decent mod! Thanks for all the replies guys.

PS: Does anyone know where to get Welch Allyn 01111 PR base bulbs? Light-Edge doesn't have any PR base ones.

I don't think this would work. Yes you could buy new reflectors, but you would have to buy them in bulk for this setup. I believe Nubo did some testing with some potent hotwire bulbs and melted his tec-40. A KPR139 is about as far as you can go with one. It works out to about 6-7 watts.

Sorry Pher. You did say lithiums didn't you. I guess that I had li-ions on the brain. Although I can't imagine feeding something like that non-rechargeable batteries especially $10 per four pack lithiums.
