Problem with McClickie

Hi all!

I have a modamag MagClickie module that uses the McClickie switch in a 1C li-ion Custom SSC / Flupic 2.2 Mag.

The problem I am having with the clickie is that it makes the flupic jump from one setting to another when I fully press the clickie for constant on, I think it may be a conductivity issue.

Has anyone had this problem, any ideas on how to fix it?

Thanks!

Well, since no one has jumped in here with a response in your thread... I will!:grin2: It does sound like you are loosing your ground path while you are depressing the switch all the way in to click it on which of course makes the FluPic move to the next setting. Could be the switch????? The McClickie is a quality switch IMHO. I have several lights with McCkickie switches operating FluPic drivers without any problems. One thing you might want to check is your ground connection between the switch and the tailcap or battery tube. I don`t know what tailcap or light you have with a McClickie in it?????? When you are clicking the switch you are putting pressure on the whole tailcap as well as the switch so this could make a poor ground contact from the switch to the battery tube or tailcap break its connection. A picture your tailcap and switch set up in your thread might help.

Someone with more of a brain than me  will post some help in your thread!;)

Hi Kenster!

My light is a custom 1C li-ion cut down, and is using a Modamag Magclickie.

I managed to fix the switch by dissasembling it and cleaning all the excess grease and used a little deoxit and progold on every electrical contact, seems to be working good now!. The internals of the magclickie remind me of the Mag 2C switch, it was quite easy to see where to clean and progold.

Thanks!

Was just looking at Modamag`s thread showing the MagClickie. Very cool!

I always figure start with the easy possible fixes to a problem first before diving in further and doing something like pulling the switch apart which ended up being your fix afterall. Also, it`s not a good idea to take the switch apart if you don`t have to because it seems to loosen the fit of the pieces a little.

Happy to hear your light is fixed! :)
