Hi everyone, I'm new to modifying led lights so please bear with me. I'm having a problem with a Seoul emitter swap in my KL6 head. I put the Seoul emitter in my KL6 head and was running 2 Li-ion 123 rechargeables in a Leef 18650 body, and it was way overdriven. This is the same battery set-up I used with the stock 5 watt emitter. It was extremely bright for a second then dimmed and started getting blue. I quickly turned it off. I then tried 2 123 primaries and it still seemed over driven. I tested the amp draw with the 2 123 primary batteries and it was at 1.2 amps. I can't imagine what the current draw was with the 2 rechargeables. I changed back to the stock 5 watt emitter and with 2 123 primaries it was very dim and was only drawing 60 ma. Using 2 rechargeable 123 batteries and the stock emitter it draws 860 ma and runs normal again. I thought the circuit board would keep the current steady. I was trying to swap in a Seoul USVOI bin emitter if that helps. Any suggestions ?

There have been others that have sucussfully used the stock KL6 driver board with 3 watt Seoul's and Cree's. I'm just wondering if I'm doing something wrong or missed something.

Larry I will pop a SSC P4 in my L6 Porcupine that as you know I already have apart and see what happens. That is the second flashlight mod you have had dimming and turning blue out of an SSC P4 but the other one was direct drive so... ???????????

Ken:)
