Problem With Threads On Raw AL

I was getting some flickering with my Raw AL so I cleaned the threads and contacts with a soft contact cleaner brush/pen. I noticed that the brush tip turned black which seems to indicate that the lubricant was removed. from the threads. Now my Raw AL does not close all the way. I can only get 2.5 turns which is not enough to turn on the light. It becomes very tight & will not turn further. I ordered Nyogel hoping it will fix the problem. I don't think it is cross threaded. Any suggestions?

The Nyogel should work. If it is just the threaded area, no 'O' rings, you could use any lube just to check it out while you wait for the Nyogel.

Aluminum will sometimes gall (stick together ) with no lube.
