Awhile back I destroyed my M30 circuit putting a battery in backward, the old reverse polarity problem. I was wondering if I can remove the optic, and if so what would be the safest way?
Thanks for advise, but I talked to Gene a few months ago when it happened, and there was nothing to be done, it is not fixable. It was my fault, I knew that it did not have reverse polarity protection, so I just ordered another one. I want to remove the optic of the ruined M30, and see if I can fit it in one of my Cree Q5 lights, switch out a reflector for the optic.
If you cut the three retainers off of the holder the optic will come out, but the optic's basically impossible to use without the holder. The optics aren't that expensive.
