Currently seeking such workshops in said area which accept strip-and-reanodize (as well as plugging/masking) jobs on flashlight parts.

Have done that for the past two years with mixed success. The challenge is that my experiences with certain metal platers are often one-off, ie. they won't accept a second (or returning) job request. Meanwhile, some facilities have limited tanks onsite which means turnaround time could be very long (as much as two weeks).

This year I'm looking into these candidates in San Jose:
1. Haro's -- turns out there are two locations (Haro's Metal Service, Haro's Anodizing Specialist). Are they actually under the same roof? Also there's no website nor email address available.
2. Applied Anodize -- they have a website, with clear presentations. However, repeated email inquiries went unanswered.

Anyone here has experience with these facilities?

Most platers have been driven out of CA due to various regulations.

I would look to more business friendly states such as AZ, OH, MI, TX.

One of the challenges you will have in general right now is that the economy is fairly strong and there just isn't sufficient capacity around for small jobs.

Perhaps consider to do your own plating - it takes some practice but isn't that hard.

Most shops consider small jobs as a way to build a relationship with a customer that will ultimately become ongoing, larger business - not a profit center. If you keep coming back with one off's, no one is going to play ball.

@HarryN
Thx for input. Unfortunately I have limited timeframe and thus cannot send parts of other states for treatment.
I also prefer visiting the workshop myself to make sure the staff knows what I exactly need. Even so things could still go wrong if the plater were not 100% careful. That occurred once last year.

Doing my own plating?? Out of the question. I don't have the skills, the resources, etc. etc. etc.

Basically this year I foresee myself visiting a few workshops and beg them into accepting my job order. Not easy as I don't drive and have to take public transport, which will take a full day. Let's see what'll happen......
