That says the operating voltage of the AA is .9 to 1.5. I thought it was the same as the 123s .9 to 3.0. Granted, this is the 123 manual and the AA manual may say otherwise.

I've read it all since I'm looking at the mini 123 right now.
 
Just as a side note, the Quark MiNi 123 will support the use of Li-ions. It is safe for the circuit and safe for the LED as far as voltage goes but the tiny mass of the light and heat output on high means you may damage the components if you leave it on too long. So 47s cannot officially recommend it, but it does work fine. I don't have any idea about the MiNi AA. :shrug:
