Would a topic here discussing how to modify the PGL-III to over 300mW of output power be allowed? I don't want to violate any of the new rules about laser discussion. I thought I posted about it, and I'm not sure if my post was deleted, or I just forgot to click the "Ok, submit" button after typing it, so I figured I'd ask before reposting it, which, if it was deleted, would make it look like I was intentionally trying to violate the rules and/or annoy you.

If this kind of thing is not allowed, maybe a quick explanation of what is or is not allowed would help prevent this kind of thing from reoccurring. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif Thanks.

What if we make a new site about glp-III and howTo mod them /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

That is leegal.. and will not hurt CPF /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Any discussion about modifying a laser is allowed here as long as it won't violate any rules and/or laws. AFAIK modding and using such devices at home at your own risk isn't forbidden, so I do not see a point to interfere with that thread right now.
As these are matters of great importance politically these days that might change of course /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif

We do not delete threads without very good reasons to do so, and even then you would have at least gotten a PM explaining it. So IMHO you forgot to hit the correct button /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif .

I am sorry for the inconvenience of the rather strict moderation of this forum, but we have to protect ourselves from legal consequences and we have to protect those that read these forums from illegal activities occuring here.

I would say that it is up to you all in this forum to know what it legal and what is not. The rules in this forum are, "The discussion and/or promotion of any illegal activities in this forum will not be allowed." ... So learn your laws. If this becomes too much of a hassle and/or chore for the moderators, I'm afraid we'll have to just disallow all discussions of lasers. This is too hot of a topic right now and is not likely to cool off any time soon. So it is in YOUR best interest to learn the laws and regulations and then follow them.
