Question regarding Surefire E2D and E2DL

Does anyone know if the "teeth" on the bezel of the E2D or E2DL are removable? If so, is it possible to put the teeth from either light on to a surefire KX2C head, or any other surefire head for that matter?

In case it is not obvious, I'm trying to find a way to make a single-stage E2DL. Thanks for your help.

AFAIK, the front portion of the E2DL bezel is the same as the KX2C, E1B, KX1/KX2 bezels except for the crenellated styling.
This front portion contains the window and the TIR optic.
It screws onto the rear portion of the bezel and is glued in place.

I don't see why the two front portions couldn't be swapped if you want to modify the two bezels [obviously voiding the warranty]
