Hi all,

First of all, I am unknown to this kind of projects, but I've read about some projects with very good succes.

I have a Greenforce G1 HID wich is broken. Electronics or lamp or battery, I don't know. Other thing is the HID light is not good underwater, the light takes away all the colours wich is not nice..

Free dimensions to built the stuff in: round 65mm long 150mm

The housing is new like unused, but in this state it is unmarketable or unusable. To replace it, we have bought a LED Diving light wich is very good. But to throw the Greenforce in the dustbin... That is a shame, no way! :)

So, who knows anything about this kind of rebuild? Wich kind of LED did you use? I think it has to be 1000 lumen at least. Wich batteries? Wich driver? Do I need a heatsink? Is www.dealextreme.com the place to be for parts?

Can I do it or is it a waste of money?

PS: I do not have any knowledge of electronics but I do have a soldering iron and can not find anything about this divingflash ..

To be fair I also mod small dive lights. :naughty:

The Greenforce make a very nice host and there are a huge range of options.

The hardest part is the heat sink. After that simply choose the LED and driver that suits your requirements.
Here is a thread about some Greenforce lights I have modified.
