For my maglite i am looking for the best D cell recharchable batteries.
Seems hard to vind:-(
I have seen that Some AA batteries have 2200 mAh, so D cell must get at least 6000 mAh these days?

So what are my options?
I have a 3D cell maglite whit dropin led.

Since you're in NL my first thought is Conrad.
You do however need a charger that can cope with the high capacities which your average cheap charger most likely can't. Take a look at their "Charge Managers". It's almost impossible to get better chargers than those. I'd suggest either the 2015 or 2020 models.

Also whatever cells you choose be sure they're of the low self discharge type. IMHO it's not worth to exchange the low self discharge for even higher capacity since they can't sit standby for long time before dropping lower than LSD types. And it's not like you have a high drain application here.
The ones I linked to is LSD. They're usually advertised as hybrids, ready to use, pre charged and the like. As a bonus LSD cells seem to be more long lived than ordinary NiMH type.

For my maglite i am looking for the best D cell rechargeable batteries.

There are a few factors involved but for my money I think the best D cells rechargeable batteries are Accupower Evolution D 10,000 mAh NiMH Low Discharge Batteries. I have purchased 30 of them to date and they have proven to be very good cells. Accupower also makes a great C LSD NiMH battery also. Here is a link to a place that sells them in America. http://www.thomasdistributing.com/s...html?SP_id=&osCsid=a98rm8a91donrsllit8gi3gna7

In something I can get from a US dealer, what would you charge those big D cells with?

Yeah I was thinking the same, so may we assume that the Tenergy D-cell capacity is not the rated 10 000mAh, but more close to 7500mAh.
