Recipe for a hi-power incan mag 6d?

Hi
a friend of mine is looking for an upgrade for his maglite, and since i'm also not yet done with my mag 623 in a 4d or my p7 mag in a 2c, i'm not sure what he should do about the power supply in his 6d....

So, i think the 62623 or wa 1185 would be useful, but i got no idea about batteries in such a big flashlight..i personally would prefer to go 3d and put a battery pack in...how about you?

maybe wait until there is some IMR "D" sized cells....six of those babies stuffedinto the 6D mag should be interesting, provided you had a n aftermarket aluminum reflector and bi pin setup...

Bi-pin socket, boro lens and al reflector will be the first thing i'll recommend him...doesn't make sense at all without that.

Easiest is 6 nimh/nicad D's and rop. Most fun would have to require 6 d li-ions or 8? Imr 26500's and likely a soft-start and regulator.
