Hi,

As you guys know that recently there was a huge flood at Manila, PH and it caused a blackout with treacherous waters reaching up to 6metres (100+ feet). I have some friends there and would like to send them some flashlights, maybe AA battery types. I'm like thinking of getting some lights cheap, water-resistant (or waterproof), long runtime (around 6hrs+ in low mode) from DX. Am looking at a large quantity so budget is low, maybe $6-7.

Do you guys have any models to recommend to me from the site which fits the conditions?

The cheapest "reliable" lights I could recommend are the Gerber Infinity Ultra and Fenix E01, either <$17.

BTW, 6m = 19.7ft (not 100+)

Ditto the fenix E01!!!

As far as DX goes... Nothing in that price range is worth your investment

yes, $7 is quite a challenge. but im looking at about 30 lights to give away.. i think i have to re-think the options. i did thought of the fenix e01 but at $15, 30 will cost me quite a lot.. :( 1 for each friend! :D couldnt imagine the fear they must had felt during the 100+feet flood and blackout.

2xAA
2 mode
6 hr runtime on low
water resistant / proof
$7.00

that is going to be one difficult find man, dont think anything on DX is going to be able to satisfy all those criteria. Only one i can think isnt from DX its from shiningbeam but its way way way out of your budget.

Romisen RC N3 II Q5 satsifies all those criteria just that its out of the budget at about $25. Why not contact Bryan and see what price he can offer you if you're ordering 30?

How about the new minimag LEDs, i have no idea how much those go for.

Op mentioned double AA, I presume it's 2xAA right? I thought the most popular recommendation at the moment would be Quark 2xAA for its moon mode... :eek:oo:

sorry, who's bryan?

Note that the Fenix E01 price drops to $10.29 for ten or more.

yes, maybe i will do that. they have another site just for bulk orders.

Just saw these on Dealnews.
Back in stock at Buy.com is the the Energizer HardCase Impact Resistant LED Flashlight, model no. TUF2AA1E, for $7.49. With free shipping, it's tied with our August mention and the lowest total price we could find by $7. This LED flashlight operates on two AA batteries (included) and is impact- and water-resistant.

that looked good but it seemed the shipping is only within USA. im flying them to the philippines so DX may be a better deal with the international free shipping.

That's also 7 times the price he wants to spend.

YES!

anyway, i just got an assignment to go to china in a few days. i think i should be able to find something that fits my budget there. thanks everyone for all your help :)

my apologies, bryan is www.shiningbeam.com amazing service, within 24 hours of making my order and paying by paypal, the light was shipped. With DX, you have no guarantee that its going to be "3 - 5 working days", my warm tint LED drop in is still "pending" 25 days after i made payment.
